  • Arrange and conduct regular customer visits, meetings and face-to-face sales presentations.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable chemical products and solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements to secure new business and maintain profitable customer relationships.
  • Manage the full sales process, from initial enquiry and lead generation through to negotiation and securing orders.
  • Achieve agreed sales, revenue and business development targets.
  • Effectively manage and develop the allocated territory and customer portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines and customer information.
  • Monitor market activity, competitor developments and emerging business opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, pipeline activity and new business opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and delivery.
  • Attend sales meetings, training and industry events as required.

About You
We are looking for a confident, motivated and commercially minded Business Development Manager who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in business development, field sales or territory sales.
  • A strong track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Experience developing existing accounts and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Confidence in cold calling, prospecting and approaching new customers.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach to identifying sales opportunities.
  • The ability to manage a territory independently and plan customer visits effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied sales pipeline.
  • Good IT skills, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A self-motivated, resilient and results-driven attitude.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within the chemical, oil & gas, energy, engineering or manufacturing sectors.
  • Previous experience selling technical products or specialist solutions into a B2B market.
  • An established network of contacts across industrial, oil & gas or related sectors.
  • Experience managing larger commercial accounts and developing strategic customer relationships.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join an established and growing business, take ownership of an established territory and make a genuine contribution to the company's continued commercial growth.
